draft marks 1:100, white

For better visibility, the decors are not displayed in white, but in black in the shop.
They are printed in white. There is only one scale on the sheet.

the numbers / signs are made of acrylic paint. They are cured with UV light during the printing process.
The numbers / characters are imprinted in a highly active adhesive.

The transfer film is used to transfer the characters on the model and will be deducted again.
The characters are printed individually without carrier foil

On the decor is the respective correct scale. The picture is an example.

We spent a lot of time on the legal basis and calculated the heights of the lines / brands using different examples. Our loading and drafting marks comply with the requirements of the Germanischer Loyd's in the version Building Regulations & Guidelines 2007. The signs, dashes and symbols were designed in CAD according to the specifications of GL and then scaled to different scales.
1:20, 1:25, 1:32, 1:40, 1:50, 1:75, 1: 100

In the area of the bow we drew different variants.
60 ° incident on both sides in m,
60 ° incident on both sides in dm,
60 ° incident right in foot
or
vertically on both sides in m and dm.
The draft marks shown in Arabic numerals correspond to metric measures (dm, m)
The draft marks shown in Roman numerals correspond to the imperial measure, engl.

The freeboard mark, load mark, Plimsoll mark
indicates the limit for the load-variable freeboard of the ship's hull. It is located on merchant ships halfway along the length of the main frame spar on both sides of the ship's hull, just below the top line marking the position of the freeboard deck. The distance of the freeboard mark from the top line (top line dash to top line dash) corresponds to the summer freeboard.

The load marks that mark the minimum allowable freeboard are horizontal strokes of 230 millimeters (9 inches) in length and 25 millimeters (1 inches) wide, that of a 25 millimeter (1 inch) wide vertical stroke, 540 millimeters (21 inches) ahead is attached to the center of the ring of the freeboard mark, at right angles and, unless expressly stated otherwise, are offset to the front.

The rear-facing load marks are load tags for wood loads.

If your ship is not intended for timber loading, please cut off the part of the decor beforehand. The white line drawn over the circle is placed at deck height.
The circle, dashes and letters are to be painted white or yellow on a dark background or black on a light background. They must be carefully and permanently attached to both sides of the ship.

For ships with limited range of travel accounts depending on the trade the seasonal load marks z. B. for tropical and winter North Atlantic travel. Ships over 100 m in length do not receive a WNA mark.
For these vessels the WNA freeboard is equal to the winter freeboard and the LWNA mark is to be placed at the same level as the W mark.

Ahming, draft mark

The actual draft of a ship can be read by Ahmings.
Ahmings are draft marks, which are attached to the bow and stern of a ship and sometimes amidships. The depth indication is calculated from the lower edge of the keel upwards and given in decimetres or English feet. Sometimes both figures are found in parallel, given in decimetres on one side, mostly left, in English foot on the other side mostly right of the ship.
The draft marks are often mounted due to the deadrise angle of the ship's bottom until 2m above the base.

We did not find a norm for the symbols bulbous bow or bow thruster. The sizes vary greatly according to our research. Depending on the size of the ship, they are individually made and welded on. Which symbols you use please compare yourself with pictures or the blueprint of your "dream ship"
The symbols TUG and ICE correspond to the specifications of the GL. Where to attach, please refer to your construction documents.

There are currently 9 classification societies worldwide.
We have decided in the presentation on 4 different, NV, LR, GL. and think most of the built ship models are models of original ships marked with these Ahmings. DSRK, is the former GDR classification society. It was taken over by GL in the early 1990s.

The numbers / letters are printed on a previously applied highly active adhesive. For protection and transfer, a transfer film is applied.

The steps for adhering the numbers and characters to the model are the same as for adhering plotted letters.
Clean the surface of the model area with spirit or similar.
Use a very sharp balsa knife to cut out the required area with the transfer foil.
Make sure that all characters stick to the foil. Carefully peel off the foil with the marks from the silicone paper.
Position the transfer ribbon with the marks on the model.

Attention: create exactly, no correction is possible! Press the characters through the transfer ribbon onto the surface. Carefully peel off the transfer film. The signs are instantly mechanically stable. After a few days, the excess adhesive with gasoline can be carefully wiped off. Overpainting also makes the glue invisible.
Overpainting is not necessary because this system is completely waterproof.
Since the color edges are rounded, mechanical damage is hardly possible as well.
